Moses obeyed God—and Israel’s suffering intensified.

Moses and Aaron carried God’s command to Pharaoh, but the king refused to release Israel. Instead, he took away the workers’ straw while demanding the same number of bricks. The people who needed Moses’ help now blamed him for making their lives harder.

Moses brought his confusion to God, and God promised that Pharaoh was about to witness His power.
